Fortinet Strengthens Unified SASE Leadership
Fortinet has announced major updates to its Unified SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) platform, reinforcing its leadership in secure networking for modern hybrid environments. The new advancements extend Fortinet’s global infrastructure to over 170 Points of Presence (POPs) while introducing AI-powered management and advanced SaaS security features to simplify IT operations and boost performance.
Stronger Global Reach and Smarter Operations
As enterprises continue shifting toward hybrid work and cloud-first strategies, the demand for consistent security and fast connectivity is at an all-time high. Fortinet’s upgraded Unified SASE platform merges networking, AI operations, and security through its unified FortiOS operating system—delivered as a scalable global cloud service.
With over 170 global POPs, Fortinet ensures low latency, high availability, and secure access from anywhere in the world. This helps organizations provide a stable user experience and maintain resilient protection across all regions.
FortiSASE gives us reliability and consistency above all else,” said Michael Cole, CTO of the European Tour Group (ETG). “Our teams connect seamlessly to the nearest Fortinet site, which ensures secure collaboration and fast data access worldwide.”
AI at the Core of Network Operations
The new FortiAI-Assist technology—backed by 15 years of AI research and more than 500 AI patents—automatically analyzes network, application, and endpoint performance. It identifies issues and resolves them within minutes, significantly reducing downtime and improving operational efficiency through GenAI and agentic AI.
Enhanced SaaS and Browser Security
Fortinet is also improving its browser and SaaS protection layers. The new agentless Secure Browser extension applies corporate security policies such as data loss prevention (DLP) and AI usage controls (copy/paste, print, download) without forcing users to change browsers.
In addition, SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM) continuously monitors over 80 popular SaaS apps—including Microsoft 365 and Salesforce—to detect and fix misconfigurations that could expose sensitive data or cause compliance issues.
Setting the Standard for Unified SASE
These updates build upon Fortinet’s recognition as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for SASE Platforms. With expanded coverage, embedded AI operations, and advanced SaaS protection, Fortinet continues to help enterprises secure and scale their digital infrastructure—ensuring safety and simplicity for the hybrid workforce of the future.
